Welcome to Bogliasco. In this video, you’ll have an immersive experience in the Italian village and beaches of Bogliasco, a non-touristy alternative to the UNESCO Cinque-Terre that is no less "instagram-able". Located about 15 kilometers from Genoa, the charming and colorful fishing village sits on a cliff above the turquoise sea. With a small marina, restaurants, and shops, you can follow your own passions and swim, hike, sail, ferry, or SUP your way gently through the warm summer days. Introduction to top sights of the Golfo Paradiso: From a ferry boat, travel the Golfo Paradiso or Gulf of Paradise with glimpses of Camogli, a fishing village a few kilometers south of Bogliasco, and also, San Fruttuoso, a monastery set on a stunning bay between Camogli and Portofino, only accessible by ferry, boat, or foot. See nearby Santa Margherita Ligure, a town that borders Portofino. One of Italy’s best towns, Santa Margherita offers small alleys and promenades where you can let your curiosity steer the way. Take a quick peak at the bagni lifestyle, the way Italians enjoy the summer at beach clubs where a chair and umbrella are yours for the day. Check out smart working during the pandemic, the Italian way, right at the beach. Best Food of Liguria Taste the local cuisine, especially the pasta with pesto, a sauce made from basil, which grows like crazy along the Ligurian coast. In this video we show you Pesto sauce with a handmade local pasta called trofie. Spaghetti Vongole, with clams, and Spaghetti al Mare, with a mix of seafood make your mouth water. You won’t want to leave Liguria without finding your own favorite place for focaccia, an olive-oil-baked flat bread you eat plain or with favorite pizza toppings like cheese, tomatoes, olives, sardines, onions and more. Best Way to Experience the Most Authentic Local Life: Live the local life. We take you to our morning swim beaches and to the promenade between Bogliasco and Genova Nervi for an evening passeggiata, a local custom to stroll with your friends and family before dinner, often with a gelato in hand. See our neighborhood and an open-plan, attic apartment decorated by a local architect for an authentic living experience. The apartment sits above a natural pool of sea water hugged by rocky ledges that are perfect for lounging. Come along for our mishap of Chiuso Per Ferie, Closed for Vacation. This is the period in August, with no specific dates, and usually two to three weeks long, when family-run shops and restaurants and services completely shut their doors for business. Finish your welcome to Bogliasco and nearby top recommendations with a sunset and the twinkle of evening lights over Bogliasco from one of the many bars and cafes along the main street of the village. Listen to the opera in the main square, Piazza Aprile XXVI, complete with dogs barking and church bells ringing. Travel video about destination Liguria in Italy. Extending south to Tuscany, Italy’s mountainous western coast on the Gulf of Genoa is called, Liguria, a picture book country with paradisiacal cliffs, remote villages, bucket loads of sunshine and a region known as, Cinque Terre, that comprises five villages. Our journey begins in Genoa, the fifth largest city in Italy. A guided tour of the harbour is a good way to gain an understanding of this city which became a powerful economic force in the sixteenth century. The Palazzo Reale was once the residence of the Savoy-Piedmont royal family, with bel-etage, gallery and hanging garden. Monterosso Al Mare is the first and largest of the five villages that comprise Cinque Terre, on the route south. It extends across two bays and two districts, separated by a rock. The modern district of Fegina has a long waterfront promenade, a well-kept sandy beach and a good range of accommodation. Vernazza is considered to be the most beautiful of the five villages mainly because of its location within a splendid bay. Corniglia has no direct access to the sea, but extends along a massive rocky plateau about a hundred metres above the sea. On the hilly outskirts is the San Pietro Church, built in 1334, with an elegant, decorated facade and a rose window of Carrara marble. Portovenere is situated on a long promontory in a remarkable location on the Ligurian coast. Just outside the famous Old Town are some splendid exclusive apartments, each with their own character. It was here that the Romans founded Veneris Portus, the ‘Port Of Venus’. The magic of Liguria is based on the contrast between a narrow Mediterranean coastal strip and steep, barren mountains. Whether you walk this scenic landscape or explore it by train or ship, Liguria is a special dream of romance and beauty. Watch more travel videos ► 🤍 Join us. Welcome to Chiavari Italy. This travel vlog visits the Italian Riviera of Liguria Italy. Get an immersive experience in one of the best kept secrets near Genoa. Chiavari Italy is a a non-touristy stop between Cinque Terre and Portofino. Come with our travel vlog to the beach, farmer’s market, restaurants and food shops of Chiavari, an old-school town full of local charm. Near Genoa, Chiavari is called the city of porticos and was once an important capitol during Napolean’s time. This travel guide gives you a glimpse at Chiavari’s world-famous artisan woodwork at the antique market. Don’t miss Chiavari, an instagram destination on the turquoise Riviera of Italy. If you’re looking for best things to do on the Italy Riviera, Chiavari has an absolutely charming historical center complete with a palace, walking arcades, beautiful squares, and a wonderful food scene. Chiavari, near Genoa, Portofino and Cinque Terre is off the tourist track, has an authentic vibe. The road into Chiavari Italy ends at the cathedral. From the cathedral, a lush park leads to the train station and the beach where a pretty beach promenade provides views of the Tigullio bay. From the beach promenade you can see Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure in one direction and the rugged cliffs to Cinque Terre in the other. Chiavari’s spot on the Liguria coast makes it an easy choice when you’re looking for top things to do near Genoa, Portofino, and Cinque Terre. After the beach, follow us into the criss-cross of narrow alleys and porticos of the historic center, where we walk from the Cathedral along the walls of the community palace to Piazza Mazzini where the daily morning market is underway. From the market you can dive into Chiavari’s wonderful arcades or porticos in any direction. We’re going to take you to a few of our favorite places and favorite experiences. CHEESE SHOP THE BEST Gianluca Ratto & Mario Foppiano This cheese shop offers over 300 local cheeses from Liguria and the Italy’s Riviera. PASTICCERIA COPELLO 1826 Here is an absolute treasure chest of sweets, where Liguria bakers make chestnut candies and cakes in the fall, chocolates and candy canes in the winter, and sweet crackers called Chiacchiere for Carnival. LUCHIN 1907 You can’t come to Chiavari without experiencing Luchin, who after 100 years still offers a daily menu of only a few, simple dishes, including the Farinata chickpea pancake. If you come here, come early when they open at noon. GRAND CAFE DEFILLA 1900 On the corner of piazza Garabaldi, DeFilla is a bustling institution that’s still one of the most popular places for a relaxed get-together. At Defilla’s enoteca the wine collection is one of the most comprehensive near Genoa on the Liguria Riviera. PANIFICIO RAFFO GINO After the beach, tuck under the portico to Panificio Raffo Gino for Torta Pasqualina or Easter cake. VIA DEI REMOLARI Not all of Chiavari’s traditional shops have stood the test of time. The oar-makers alley is quiet, no longer making oars for the wooden fishing boats of the Liguria Riviera coast. ANTIQUE MARKET Here you might also spot Chiavari’s most famous handcraft of all — the Chiavari chair. Stay with us for an easy Pesto recipe from our expert at the farmer’s market. Santa Margherita Ligure is one of our top ten places in Italy. Santa, as the locals call the village of Santa Margherita, stole our hearts for many reasons that we’ll share with you in this travel vlog touching on the best of Italy’s Riviera. Let’s start this travel guide with the pretty Liguria setting. The village nestles against the mountains of Portofino Park on the Portofino Peninsula and faces a beautiful turquoise bay. While a popular resort among Italians for Italy Riviera travel, Santa is less discovered by others. Santa has a vibrant local population and remains authentic and by far, much lesser known. What’s more, Santa has beautiful Italian Riviera beaches. And it’s near Portofino and Genoa Italy and Cinque Terre. In this Italian Riviera travel vlog, part walking tour along the seaside boardwalk and town, part driving tour, you’ll get an immersive experience of this Ligurian resort, an instagrammable spot where you can be one of the first. We’ll also share with you some fantastic Liguria food. Ligurian food that the wonderful Stanley Tucci in Stanley Tucci Searching for Italy did not have time to cover in his one short hour of Stanley Tucci Liguria. Liguria street food that we find in Santa Margherita’s bakeries includes Cheese focaccia bread. Cheese focaccia was invented in nearby Recco and is nothing like the traditional Liguria focaccia we’re all familiar with. We also take you to lunch, to aperitif time and to the local fish market to shop for Santa Margherita famous red shrimp. In this Liguria travel vlog we’ll visit: Villa Durazzo. Villa Durazzo Santa Margherita is a gorgeous villa set above the marina with This typical Genoa Ligurian stonework made from black and white pebbles called Rissëu. Capo Nord. Capo Nord is a seaside restaurant near Paraggi Beach and Portofino. Paraggi Bay and Beach. Paraggi is a precious sand beach among the stone beaches of Liguria. It’s a protected nature area and a UNICEF blue flag beach with no boats, great swimming, beach club, snorkeling and SUP, stand up paddle boarding rentals. Portofino. Santa Margherita marina, where you’ll see the catch of il Gambero di Santa and traditional Gozzo Ligure fishing boats. This sparkling marina sits on the azure bay of Tigullio. Rapallo and San Miguel Pagano’s Liguria mare. As a full time traveler, it’s always hard to pick favorites, but Santa Margherita Ligure is better than top ten. It’s one of our top five destinations. And as a full time travel couple, we find this is something we both easily agree on. We’re full time travel vloggers on Youtube 🤍happygoluckytravel. Come with us no matter if you’re looking for early retirement italy, slow travel italy, insider tips travel italy, or just a fun few minutes seeping yourself in a beautiful destination. This video crosses seasons. From October to May, Santa Margherita Ligure beaches are almost deserted, many restaurants and hotels close, and Santa is quiet and stylishly attractive. When summer comes, lounge chairs cover every spec of sand, shops and beach-side eateries come full swing and its a hopping lively resort in a drop-dead setting. Genova Nervi, Italia, una splendida località balneare sulla Costa Ligure Genoa Nervi is a beautiful seaside town on the coast of Liguria, preferred by tourists for its natural beauty and its historic architecture including Renaissance, Baroque and Gothic style. The Ducal Palace, Palazzo San Giorgio, San Lorenzo Cathedral and Church of San Matteo are some of the most visited attractions of the small town. The small harbour of Nervi, named Porticciolo di Nervi, bordered by a semicircle of colorful little houses in typical Ligurian style is a very picturesque place. It is the starting point of a charming and romantic promenade of about 2 kilometers, Passeggiatta Anita Garibaldi, which offers a stunning panoramic view and unforgettable walks. Nervi is a former fishing village, now a district of Genoa and a seaside resort in Liguria. The beautiful village is located on the Riviera di Levante, 7 km east of central Genoa, the regional capital of Liguria, and 19 km northwest of Portofino. It has a wonderful location on a cliff overlooking the sea and a two kilometers fascinating and romantic promenade named after Anita Garibaldi. At the beginning of the Anita Garibaldi Promenade you can admire a 16th century look-out building for Saracen vessels, the Torre Groppallo or “Hay Tower”. From the promenade, that starts from the district centre, you can access Parchi di Nervi, the most elegant green area of Genoa. Parchi di Nervi hosts around one hundred botanical species extend on 92000 square meters of land between Via Aurelia and the sea. Genoa is the capital city of the Italian region of Liguria, located on the Gulf of Genoa in the Ligurian Sea. The city was the capital of one of the most powerful maritime republics for over seven centuries, from the 11th century to 1797 and it has always been one of the most important ports on the Mediterranean. Today it is the busiest port in Italy and in the Mediterranean Sea. Nestled between the sea and the mountains, Genoa is the sixth-largest city in Italy. #Genoa, #Genova_Nervi_Italia, #Genoa_Nervi_Italy, #Genoa_Italy, #Genova_Italia, #Genova_Liguria, #Liguria_Italy, #Liguria_Italia, #Italian_Riviera, #Ligurian_Coast, #Riviera_Ligure, #Riviera_di_Levante, #Italy, #Italia, #Italian, #Italian_Places, #Italian_Attractions, #Travel_in_Italy, #Visit_Italy, #Travel, #Viaggi, #Reisen, #Dante120, #Travel_Vlog, #Vlog_di_Viaggio, #Walking_Tour, #City_Walk Be sure to hit SUBSCRIBE so you are the first for see brand new content of this channel: 🤍 You can see more about Liguria, Italy, here: 🤍 Liguria, Italy | Genoa Nervi - Part 1: The Train Station & The Amazing Promenade Anita Garibaldi, here: 🤍 and Genoa Nervi, Liguria, Italy (2) | A Walk from Anita Garibaldi Promenade to Piazza Duca Degli Abruzzi, here: 🤍 and more shorts here: 🤍

Portofino Italy. Come see our Portofino Italy hidden gems found near Genoa on the Portofino Peninsula, a national park near Cinque Terre. This Portofino travel vlog shows you spectacular views, historic marvels, and local Liguria food in hidden restaurants unknown to most visitors. In this Portofino Italy travel guide, we’ll take you beyond the bling to four insider experiences in Portofino, the Italian Riviera’s most beloved and chic destination. In this Portofino vlog near Genoa Italy you’ll see its Italian Riviera charm doesn’t start and end with the classy little fishing village turned marina, there’s so many more Portofino things to do. The further you venture in Italy’s riviera travel, the less crowded it gets. It’s easy to call Portofino Positano, but Positano is Positano’s much southern neighbor on the Amalfi coast. Portofino is located on the Liguria coast in the section of the Italian riviera between Genoa and Cinque Terre. We’ll show you lesser-known Portofino things to do at this lovely destination a few kilometers from Santa Margherita Ligure, which we covered in a recent travel vlog. Santa and Portofino pair together well as one of the best places to go in Liguria and maybe all of Italy. If you’re in Cinque Terre, this area is not far and a great alternative to Cinque Terre. So you’re in for a great Portofino holiday. Portofino is the Liguria riviera’s picture-perfect fishing village turned luxury hot-spot of designer shops, yachts, and Michelin restaurants. Even thought this tiny, yet infamous place that can get crowded our local tips take you to unique experiences, less-traveled, beyond the hype. All it takes is to venture into the Portofino park, one of Liguria’s best-kept secrets, full of hidden gems. CERVARA ABBEY. Cervara Abbey is near Genoa, between Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure. You must make a reservation for a mandatory tour by the Abbey guides. 🤍 The garden is the best part of the visit — it’s the only Italian Renaissance style garden in Liguria. From the garden see the gulf of Portofino and down the coast to the cliffs at the beginning of Cinque Terre. And looking the other way, Portofino. VISTA POINTS. Tons of beautiful trails criss-cross the leafy Portofino National park leading to gobsmacking vistas. Pick up a trail map at the tourist office in Santa, Rapallo, Camogli or Portofino. BASE ZERO. The Base Zero loop goes up into the hills directly from Portofino and across the sheer cliff with even better sea vistas than what we experienced walking between villages in the Cinque Terre trail. You’ll share your journey with with far less people. PARADISE POINT. This best view facing up the coast to Camogli, Genoa. San Rocco below to Camogli and Genoa. SEMAFARO NUOVO. Semafaro Nuovo is another picture perfect view and the best instagrammable spot. If you look right below the bench lookout you’ll see the naval batteries built in 1941 to fortify Genoa. As you finish the loop you’ll get more sea vistas and a final viewpoint — this one down to the monastery of San Fruttuoso. SAN FRUTUOSSO. Taking the ferry to San Fruttuoso is one of our favorite experiences in this area. We’ve covered this beautiful location in our Camogli vlog and Bogliasco vlog because we can’t get enough of it! Ferries leave from Santa Margherita Ligure, Porto fino and Camogli before arriving in a half hour to this spectacular bay. HISTORIC MILL for LUNCH. Historic olive mill named Mulino Gassetta. Portofino peninsula used to produce olive oil for the surrounding communities. The osteria is casual with homestyle cooking. FERRY RIDE TO PORTOFINO. Return to Portofino by walking back to Santa Margherita Ligure and taking the ferry fifteen minutes along the coast. Portofino BROWN CASTLE. 🤍 and Portofino FARO LIGHTHOUSE. 🤍 Hope you enjoyed this HappyGoLuckyTravel Portofino video and to some of the best sights in Liguria and maybe even Italy. Please Subscribe! Come tour Italy’s Lerici, a beautiful fishing village with sandy beaches, near Cinque Terre, but with way less tourists. Lerici is one of the best places to visit if you’re planning a trip to Liguria. San Terenzo, Tellaro, and Lerici connect together in a bay via a promenade, and ferry boats in the summer time. Our tour gives you a taste of all three, with a walking tour through Tellaro. Your tour even takes you to Montecello, a small hamlet, above Tellaro where you’ll visit the local bell ringer, a plucky character who supervises the hamlet’s outdoor alter to Virgin Mary. She’ll also tell you the story of the the visit of a famous singer. You’ll visit our home away from home, in a private garden estate. Perched on the top of the hill above Lerici, you’ll see the hairpin drive, tour the tiny house, and, from the pool deck and balcony, take in the magnificent views of the entire bay of poets. Mary Shelley who wrote Frankenstein and invented the science fiction genre, her husband the poet Percy Shelley, and the poet Byron also lived in the Lerici area, inspiring the nickname Bay of Poets. You can reach Lerici from airports of Genoa or Pisa, both about an hour away. The train stops at nearby La Spezia and also even closer, in Sarzana. I had the sublime opportunity to visit Bordighera in Liguria with a few friends this summer, and had the time of my life. Such a beautiful place, full of fascinating history, miles of pristine coastline, and obviously the best food in the world. Bordighera is relatively a secret still, only 40 minutes to the infamous Monaco in France, it has all the same beauty and wonder, but is so much more friendly and accessible. You can rent e-bikes, dine on the beach, explore ancient towns, swim in mountain waterfalls, horseback ride, or just chill. I fell in love (hard) there ... and am so happy to share this little poem to a stunner of a city. Gold Hotel: Where I stayed. Perfectly located, beautiful property, run by an amazing family that really brings you into their world. 🤍 Discoveriviera: they delivered the bikes right to the hotel and picked them up too. Best e-bike experience yet (they also do food and wine tours which look amazing) 🤍 Dream Ranch: Elisa Orengo's working ranch is a stunner with a great story behind it... she's amazing, and the horseback tours are second to none. 🤍 Gymnastics: Marco Pons is a gem. He kept us fit during our stay so we could truly enjoy all that pasta;) Private training right at the hotel was epic. 🤍 Woodworking: Aurelia Rezoagli is the Caravaggio of wood ... if you go to Dolceacqua you have to seek him out. If you're lucky, you may even take a class from him. 🤍 Winetasting: While you can drink wine everywhere in Bordighera, experiencing it on the medieval streets with Marco Barile brings it to a whole other level of enjoyment. 🤍 Tour Guide: I highly suggest taking a walking tour of Bordighera, not only is it lovely to explore the streets on foot, but there is so much interesting history you would never pick up on without an expert, and Simona Gibertini is just that. Contact Nicola at the Gold Hotel for the hookup;) 🤍 Beach Club Kursaal: We spent most of our time in the good hands of Kursaal, the best beach club on the Riviera ... every lunch there was a dream, cold local white wine, fresh pastas, amazing service. A vacation within a vacation. 🤍 If you like this little tip, think bout subscribing, or hopping over to 🤍cineclast.com my travel blog for more suggestions, vids, and pics of amazing places around the world! Where do you go in Italy to enjoy the radiant sun, glorious seashores, and fantastic food? One of my favorite places for Italian summer vacation is, of course, Liguria! This region stretches from the French border to the edge of Tuscany and has a beautiful Mediterranean climate, which means hot and sunny summers, mild winters, and moderate rainfalls. Despite its small size, Liguria is only the third smallest region in Italy. Liguria has always been a crossroads of trade and traffic between Italy, France, and Spain and has an ancient winemaking tradition. You might think you are unfamiliar with Ligurian grape varieties, Pigato, for example (the flagship white grape variety here in Liguria); However, you might know it under a different name! Let's try: Rollé from Southern France, Vermentino from Sardinia, or Favorita from Piedmont. Yep, confusingly these are all different names of the same grape variety. Or at least this is what recent DNA researches show. However, go to Liguria and talk to a local winemaker. He will tell you that Pigato and Vermentino express themselves very differently and, in fact, are labeled separately here in Liguria. So, Pigato makes whites with intense aromas of citrus, fresh herbs, and spice and a rich, waxy texture. It evolves with time, so you can leave it in your cellar for a few years. Pairings? Well, a famous Focaccia di Recco stuffed with delicious melted stracchino cheese, or you remember I told you about those herbal aromas? Well, they make Pigato a perfect companion to pesto, an amazingly delicious green sauce made with basil leaves, pine nuts, olive oil, garlic, and hard cheese. One of the more exciting Ligurian whites is a blend of Vermentino, Albarola, and Bosco (rare local grape varieties) called Cinque Terre. This appellation is also famous for its vineyards situated high above the Ligurian Sea, on terraces sculpted into cliff sides. My favorite pairing with this wine is a Ligurian-style fish, baked with potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and taggiasca olives. What a treat! And what about red wines? We are on the border with Piedmont, so it is no surprise that we find at least one Piedmontese grape variety here. Ormeasco is what they call Dolcetto here. However, I suggest you try a local Rossese – light and fruity reds that can be easily paired even with… fish! Want something rare? Try a sweet local wine Sciacchetrà with a piece of Genoa cake! ▬▬▬ TABLE OF CONTENTS 🕓 00:00 Intro 00:11 Liguria 00:21 Liguria Geography 00:30 Liguria History WineMaking 00:56 Pigato 2:36 Cinque Terre DOC 3:11 Red Wine of Liguria 3:19 Ormeasco 3:26 Rossese 3:34 Cinque Terre Sciacchetrà 3:41 Until next time ▬▬▬ Love wine and food news? Located just thirty km from Genoa - Cristoforo Colombo airport and two hours from Milan, this house was built on the beach front, at the foot of an enchanting village on the western Ligurian Riviera. Immersed in a centuries-old park measuring 4.5 hectares, among the intoxicating scents of lush lavender hedges, this villa stands out for anyone looking from the sea towards the thick Mediterranean scrub that covers the hinterland. Privacy is not lacking in the splendid outdoor spaces of its vast grounds, enriched by a splendid swimming pool framed by typically Mediterranean essences, an orange grove, an orchard, an olive grove, a rose garden and a vegetable garden. In the center, in a magnificent panoramic position directly overlooking the sea, this 2,000-sqm villa stands fascinating and majestic, developed on three floors. Its beauty, protected by the Cultural and Landscape Heritage, is given by the large reception hall that occupies the ground floor, with original terrazzo floors and ceilings with stuccoes and embossed decorations, around which there are four rooms, two on each side, as well as a study and four bathrooms. On one side of the floor, there is a 180-sqm terrace featuring precious marble floorings - the ideal setting for a sumptuous reception - covered by a fixed structure that can be closed on the sides. A monumental marble staircase leads to the first noble floor, where there are five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room and a lounge with a balcony, as well as two kitchens. Going up to the second floor we find an independent apartment, finely renovated with luxury furnishings, consisting of four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen. Genoa (also Genova, Génova, Genua 2023) is a coastal city in Liguria in the north of Italy. Genoa played an important role as an important port since the Roman ages. Especially in the medieval period the city developed as an mediterrannean powerhouse and became a powerful maritime republic with many Genoese colonies and trade posts in France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey and the Middle East. The city became very rich because of these possessions and trade routes. Some highlights of the city are the historical centre with Piazza de Ferrari and the XX Settembre Street, the Castelletto quarter and Porto Antico. Genoa has a population of 600,000. A trip to West Liguria, otherwise known in Italian as Riviera di Ponente. Quite an understated region of Italy largely unknown to the global tourists. Charming and unpretentious, rustic and beautiful, real. Great food and beautiful beaches, absolutely a destination to be explored. We chose the places almost randomly, with minimal research, but only realized later that there are so many other beautiful towns and villages that we still have to explore in the future. And we will. It is easily reached from Milan, and of course Ligurian capital Genova, which we will cover later.
